G&G Industrial Lighting: Illuminating Innovation

At G&G Industrial Lighting, we don’t just create lights—we engineer solutions that thrive where others fail. Founded in 2010 on a foundation of relentless innovation, our story is one of humble beginnings, bold problem-solving, and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. From the soapy, corrosive depths of car washes to the far reaches of space exploration, G&G brings durable, purpose-built lighting to the world’s most challenging environments. Our journey is defined by listening to our customers, exceeding expectations, and turning obstacles into opportunities. This is our brand story: a testament to American ingenuity, customer-first service, and a bright future ahead.

How It All Began: From Family Roots to Revolutionary Design

G&G’s origins trace back to the car wash industry in Upstate New York, where our CEO, Jason Baright, grew up immersed in the family business. His family owned Foam & Wash, a small chain of car washes, and Jason spent his youth cleaning pits, running wires, and tackling the gritty work that kept operations running. This hands-on experience sparked a lifelong passion for solving real-world problems.

The spark that ignited G&G came from Jason’s uncle, Gary Baright. Attending the Car Wash Show in Las Vegas, Gary stumbled upon the concurrent Lightfair event at the same convention center. Intrigued by the potential for LED lighting in car washes, he scavenged a discarded badge to sneak in and search for solutions. None existed—traditional lights couldn’t withstand the constant humidity, direct sprays, and harsh chemicals.

At the time, Jason had studied electrical engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and was working for a defense contractor. In 2010, Gary challenged him to design an LED fixture tough enough for car washes. Their initial trip to China yielded no results, so Jason, an innovator at heart, began prototyping in his attic outside his full-time job. Through relentless trial and error, testing technologies and materials, he developed a patented breakthrough: the WPX, a “connectorized” harsh-environment LED luminaire.

Launched as G&G’s first product, the WPX revolutionized car wash lighting. Unlike fluorescent or standard LED fixtures that failed prematurely, the WPX featured a single-piece, permanently sealed tube enclosure that prevented water and debris ingress. Its specialized housing resisted corrosive chemicals, earning IP68/69K ratings for waterproofing and durability. Manufactured in the USA for superior quality control, it addressed operators’ pain points—durability, reliability, and performance.

In 2012, G&G opened its first manufacturing facility in Red Hook, New York. Jason’s brother, Cory Baright, joined with his expertise in accounting, finance, and entrepreneurship, transforming the bootstrapped operation into a thriving business. The small team handled everything: design, engineering, sales, manufacturing, shipping, and support. A pivotal moment came when family friend Keith Lutz, President of KleenRite, became G&G’s first distributor and shared booth space at an ICA show. Described as “illuminated conduit,” the WPX’s uniqueness captivated the industry, solving long-standing issues and forging a lasting partnership with KleenRite.

Recognizing that one size doesn’t fit all, G&G expanded its lineup. Feedback from self-serve operators led to the GPX General Purpose fixture, which dialed back over-engineered features for cost-effectiveness while maintaining reliability. Its bendable design and direct-AC connection made it ideal for vacuum arches, illuminating vehicles precisely where needed. By this point, G&G had established itself as the expert in car wash lighting, offering white LED solutions that enhanced curb appeal, safety, productivity, energy efficiency, and longevity.

Evolving with Color: Unlocking New Dimensions

As white lighting’s value became clear, G&G pioneered colored lighting to elevate the car wash experience. Operators had relied on dyes to make chemical sheets “pop,” but why not use light? Through R&D and experimentation, G&G modified the WPX for single-color fixtures in amber, green, blue, and red—bringing lava curtains to life, adding excitement to rain bars, and simulating heat in blower areas.

Launched in 2018, WPX Color fixtures unleashed high-intensity saturation, transforming washes into immersive spectacles. Adoption surged as colored lighting boosted upsells, attracted customers, and highlighted value-added services. Listening to feedback—“Can we have more colors? What about animations?”—drove further innovation. G&G introduced WPX-RGB, RGB MAXX, and the exclusive Rainbow MAXX for Sonny’s, incorporating push-button controls for customizable colors, speeds, and scenes.

This evolution culminated in 2020 with ColorWash®, the most innovative car wash lighting control system ever created. No longer just bolt-on accessories, ColorWash integrated ambient and process lighting for fully immersive experiences. Operators could customize colors to match branding, create holiday scenes, and synchronize with equipment—all controlled remotely via app or computer. ColorWash revolutionized the industry, turning car washes into community-engaging spectacles that boosted visibility, differentiation, and revenue.

Where We Stand Today: Expanding Horizons Beyond Car Washes

In 2025, G&G’s portfolio has grown exponentially. The ColorWash suite now includes solutions for tunnels, in-bay automatics, self-serves, and exteriors like EDGE perimeter lighting. Options such as ColorWash PLUS for premium immersion and ColorWash Nano for targeted emphasis allow tailored consultations to meet operators’ goals.

Our durability—proven in car washes—opened doors to new frontiers. If lights can survive soap, chemicals, and jets, they can endure anywhere. Early adopters in food processing embraced WPX for conveyors and lines, where IP68/69K and NSF ratings handle sanitation and extremes. This led to the 2018 FPX Food Processing LED Linear, meeting USDA requirements and becoming a staple for giants like Tyson, Cargill, Smithfield Foods, and JBS, plus smaller operations. Expansions followed into cold storage, freezers, and colored variants.

Partnerships with manufacturers’ representatives fueled growth in mass transit. Our low-profile, aimable fixtures excelled in maintenance pits for trains, buses, and trucks, with easy-install direct-AC tech winning accounts like Amtrak and Walmart. This evolved into RTX Rail Tunnel fixtures and custom PRX for the Holland Tunnel, featuring EMI-Silent technology to avoid interfering with communications.

Over the past decade, G&G’s reach has extended to steel mills, mines, distilleries, chemical plants, oil rigs, paint booths, mezzanines, and beyond. We’ve illuminated infrastructure like the Acosta Bridge, Bell Street Bridge, O’Hare Airport canopies, parking decks, pedestrian bridges, and wastewater facilities. A milestone: engineering the first American-made radiation-resistant LED (RRX) for particle accelerators. A personal highlight—partnering with SpaceX to light launch towers and marine recovery vessels.

In October 2024, G&G relocated to a state-of-the-art headquarters in the Saratoga Technology + Energy Park in Malta, New York. Our 32,000-square-foot facility, a renovated building with a new addition, houses approximately 55 employees, driving innovation and production. This move underscores our growth, recognized by the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America for nine consecutive years and as the Second Fastest Growing Company in New York’s Capital Region.

Today, G&G brings light anywhere, earning trust through service and solutions that thrive where others fail.
